New Becker's statement about Novak: They asked him if he would train him again!
Boris Becker always has something to say about Novak Djokovic.
Recently, German criticized Serb after the defeat in the second round of the Australian Open, speaking of the grounds for termination of their cooperation at the end of 2016.
This time, Becker expressed optimism for the upcoming period in front of Serbian tennis player.
- I have high hopes for Djokovic. All he has to do is to find focus again - said the German.
And one interesting question followed.
- Would i train him again? I will always be his friend, i am always on his side. We are in very good relations. I don't know, we will see what will happen. I learned a lot from the period when i trained Djokovic. I thought i knew how the tennis is played today, but i didn't know until i started working with Novak. It was entirely different experience and i am grateful for him. We will see what the future holds - said Becker.
He said that the long awaited trophy of French Open affected the Serbian tennis player.
- He must put tennis as a number one priority, and i hope he will. People don't understand what it takes to win Grand Slam. Imagine, he won it four times in a row, he held real Grand Slam. Dream of a lifetime fulfilled, and of course he became tired of it. That affects your mind. Of course family wants him. He is a human being with a big heart.
- He is a player whose motivation grew weary. To return, he has to train again and it is not easy when you are on top. I think Andy Murray learned a lot from Novak and that he was more professional in the second part of the year. But there you go, he came to be number one and you see what happened to him in Melbourne, it is entirely different story now. Different world, the pressure is different. That is why you should say congratulations to Novak, because he managed to be the first for so long, in completely different circumstances - concluded the German.
