Croatia is bringing back conscription?

Extensive analysis is ongoing in Croatia which should show the benefits and flaws of reactivating compulsory military service.

The collapse of Croatian Air Force: The Army is on the verge of collapse!

Retired general of the Croatian Army and Croatian generals Assembly President Pavao Miljevic said that there are constantly words about violent solving of the crises in region, and it, often, as he said, goes under the radar, writes Glas Slavonije.

- And really there can be problems, for example Republika Srpska could try parting from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which would immediately provoke Muslim reaction and you have a problem - said Miljavac.

It is normal for him, as he said, to drag in Serbia in it, which will all together make problem to Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so Croatia would have to do something, in this way or the other.

- And there can be serious conflict in a blink of an eye. Minister of Foreign affairs of Russia, Lavrov, warned about that - said Miljavac.

Compulsory military service was abolished in 2008 and from then on there was only voluntary military service.

Voluntary military service lasts for 14 weeks on the training grounds Slunj and Gasinci. Using their sources, Glas Slavonije writes that Ministry of Defense of Croatia doesn't want to comment on the matter before any official analysis.

The source of the papers reports that the Ministry and the headquarters are giving the example of that decision after what they will decide will they go into changes. It is claimed that these processes are going on and the story has foundations.

Unnamed source said that it is up to system to propose the amendment to be discussed.

Two months, one month, or six weeks training could be proposed. The training wouldn't last more than 2 months. These military training would not have any special educationit would serve to show individuals how to handle infantry weapons.

First aid should be thought with the firing of automatic weapons and the use of protective mask. After that, there should be an option of voluntary additional training.

Basic training should be completed within a month:

- That is why the goal wouldn't be to train them for something big, but to convey basic concepts and things we think they should know. For example, how to set up a tent or similar procedures that can be applied in different situations - states the papers.
