Believers in Vevcani, small Macedonian village, which proclaimed their own "state" twenty years ago in spite of the authorities at the time, issued ID carts, passports and money, were close to take out priest out of the water instead of Holy Cross on Epiphany day.

Priest tried to get down the slope closer to the river where bunch of people were waiting to jump for Holy Cross, but he slipped and he almost ended up in the freezing water.  

He was saved by the tree he grabbed onto, besides snow, numerous believers supported that with orchestrated shooting, and it was all like a big carnival celebration of religious holiday. 

Someone posted the tragicomic scene on Internet and it soon became a true hit on social networks and portals, as well as the case from 2014 when Macedonian priest in Perth, Australia, when he almost lost his head. Vasko Karanfilovski, who lost his balance at some moment and fell into the Swan river. Luckily, lifeguards reacted quickly and saved him from drowning.
