A spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Kosovo Sean Michel said that the United States respect the right of Kosovo to take care of its border. In accordance to that we supported the operation of the institutions of Kosovo by sending special forces at the Jarinje crossing in order to stop the entry of the train, which was going from Belgrade to Kosovo.

- USA recognized Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state in 2008 and we respect the right of Kosovo to decide who and what passes through their border - said US Embassy spokeswoman in Kosovo and added that she is glad there were no conflicts on the border.
Spokeswoman said that the United States strongly supports the dialogue facilitated by the EU as "the best way to promote relations between Kosovo and Serbia".
The passenger train was headed from Belgrade to Kosovska Mitrovica on Saturday, but it caused adverse reactions in Pristina, and the day before Minister Edita Tahiri asked the EU to prohibit its entry into Kosovo, because, as she assessed, Belgrade is trying to destabilize Kosovo in that way.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said that the arrival of this train on Kosovo is in contradiction with the Constitution of Kosovo and that the train was prohibited from entering Kosovo by any means necessary.
The train, which was headed for Kosovo from Belgrade for the first time in almost two decades, is decorated with pictures of icons of Serbian shrines on Kosovo, which are under UNESCO protection, and it has writings on it "Serbia is Kosovo" on twelve different languages.
The train did not arrive to Kosovo because the situation became complicated due to the published video where people planted explosives on the railways, because of what special Kosovo forces ROSU came to Donje Jarinje crossing.
According to the words of words of Serbian Prime minister, the train returned to Belgrade from Raska thanks to the Belgrade's wisdom, and thus the conflicts and sacrifices were avoided.
Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa thanked the international community and the United States for support.
