Emergency situation still across Serbia: Navigation forbidden on Sava, Tisza and Danube

Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure announced that the rivers Sava, Tisza and Danube and still not navigable.

It was also stated that the traffic in Belgrade and Nis airports run smoothly.

According to the statement, the services of Belgrade Airport Nikola Tesla are working to enable the smooth flow of traffic, and at the airport Konstantin Veliki in Nis the traffic runs smoothly. There are 133 planned takeoffs and landings on Belgrade Airport. 

The Ministry stated that navigation on the Tisza river remains suspended from the dam to the border with Hungary, because the ice is covering 90 percent of the waterway.

Water traffic is still suspended on the system Danube-Tisza-Danube, as well on Sava, where water level is low, and there is ice.

The navigation on the Danube has been suspended due to ice - from Bezdan to Kladovo, but also because of strong winds in the area from Kladovo to Prahovo. The Danube is 70 %covered in ice at Bezdan and Apatin, 60% near Novi Sad, 50% near Belgrade, while the entire waterway is covered in ice at Veliko Gradiste. 

"Vojvodina Water" announced regular defense from ice on Danube, on Sava from Hrtkovac to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on Tisza river. 

"Srbijavode" announced regular defense from water on Danube from Golubac to Smederevo.
