GOOD NEWS FROM BRUSSELS: Possible opening of new chapters in February
Serbia could open new chapters in negotiations about EU membership in February, announced in Brussels. Representatives of Malta said for Tanjug, the country which currently holds the EU presidency, that they are ready to move forward with the opening of those chapters with Serbia that are technically ready.

- Malta presidency considers the possibility of organizing new international government conference with Serbia where chapter 26 would be opened, which is about education and culture - said in the written statement of Malta as the country which holding the presidency of EU, delivered to Tanjug.
The EU Council in Brussels stress that the working bodies of the Council, which are dealing with issues of expansion, are going to meet next week.
More about the attitudes of the member countries will be known then, stated in the diplomatic sources of Tanjug in Brussels, and what new chapters could be opened in the process of joining Serbia in EU.
Diplomatic sources in Belgrade announced near the end of last year that, next to chapter 26. which was unblocked buy Croatia, chapters 20 (about enterprise and industrial policy) and 29 (about border union) could be opened.
From 35 negotiation chapters of Serbia in the joining process, we have opened six, of which three are "fundamental", regarding the rule of law and normalization of relations with Kosovo.
