50 kilometers from Belgrade there is the happiest village in Serbia: It has 500 houses, everyone is working and they are united!

Dobrinci is a small village next to Ruma, and it is a real proof that you can live nicely in small place.

Hardworking people live in this village just eight kilometers from Ruma. They say for themselves that they are good and that is how their village got its name (Good - Dobri).

It has 500 households, and there are workers in everyone of them.  

About 200 locals will be employed in the first plant in the village which will be opened and whose construction will be completed next year. It will deal with the production and processing of vegetables, and it will contribute to the work with farmers, but also the better life standard.  

From a total of 2.890 hectares of land, there is not a single part of land that is not being worked on. Besides the production of watermelons, which is being promoted through village "Watermelon days", they grow melons, cucumbers, tomatoes... Some of them even hold records in vegetable production.

- We have developed housing market. Those are long time buyers, who know that they are buying quality goods. Of course there are great investments in production, for example, for one hectare of watermelons, starting from seeds, foils, cultural practices, all together is around two thousand euros. But a buyer comes to your doorstep and  buys all of your products, it is more cost-effective than taking it to the market - said Djordje Tomic, president of the Local Community Council.

In a village of 1.700 residents, 12 to 18 babies are born each year, and it is no wonder that this is the only village in Ruma municipality that has nursery.

- 25 children are going to preschool, and 30 are in nursery. Parents are working, and grandparents are on the fields, and since no one is able to watch over the children, we had to open nursery", said the first man of the village, which has a four grade elementary school "Ivo Lola Ribar" - which has around 60 students.

Besides Hunting association "Zec", village has an Amateur Cultural and Artistic society "Dobrinci", Women association "Tifani", Football club Sremac... Young play special part in these clubs.

- It's not true that you can't find a job, we are the proof for that. Most of our locals work in factories, but also in neighboring municipality. Some are working on crops, and they are those who do season jobs and make a lot of money - said Djordje Tomic, who is working on 80 hectares of land himself.
