Balkan chocolate war continues: Slovenians returned box of chocolates to Croatia because of one small detail on the box

  • 0

Croatian embassy in Slovenia sent to their Slovenian associates, working in the Ministry of foreign affairs, to the cabinet of prime minister Miro Cerar and to president Borut Pahor, boxes of chocolate as a New Year's present which was marked as "inconceivable provocation".

Vukovar school banned Serbian children from receiveing gifts for Christmas ?!

Slovenian politicians weren't so happy, writes Slovenian Dnevnik and adds that this act was marked as inconceivable provocation.

"Kras" box of chocolates said "Greetings from Croatia", on the box there was a map of a part of Croatia, and when you lift the lid, you can see the rest of the map with the drawn border between Slovenia and Croatia in the middle of Gulf of Piran, reports Fonet.

Since the border between two countries has not yet been determined, the Ministry of foreign affairs returned the box of chocolates to the Croatian embassy in the bag "I feel Slovenia".

Slovenian diplomats did not want to comment about the case in order not to worsen relations between the neighboring countries, but some are wondering, as Dnevnik writes, what will other members say about the Croat provocation while waiting for the decision of the Arbitral Tribunal.

We remind that the president of Croatia Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic gave chocolate bars from Serbia to children on Defender's day. It was found out about this when a parent shared a picture on Facebook and showed what kind of gift his child got from the president.

Kolinda apologized, saying that she is disappointed in what has happened, and said that nothing similar will happen again, and she will send to parents Croatian products.

This incident was followed by every media in the region, and many politicians gave their comments on this subject, as well more notable people of both countries.
