(LIVE) New details of the football players plane crash: More than 50 dead, goalkeeper and defender survived, pilot is a hero
New information are arriving about the plane crash with football players of the Chapecoense FC.
Good news is that there are survivors but it is still unknown how much of the total 81 passengers and crew members died.
Blessing in disguise is that the plane did not explode when it crashed which could lead to disaster.
According to the latest information, six passengers survived the crash, and the first which were taken out of the wreckage were defender Alan Ruschel, player with number 89, who is on loan from Internacional from Porto Alegre.

Colombian media reveal new details about the cause of the crash, so now there are indications that the plane did not crash due to the shortage of fuel, but the malfunction on electric devices.

Football players of Chapecoense FC traveled to Medellin on the first match of finals in "Copa Sudamericana" (south American version of Europe league) against Atletico National.
Upon departing from Sao Paulo, plane had landing in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from where it headed to it's final destination, Medellin. However, in the Antioquia Department it disappeared from the radar and there traces of it.
08:50 - Second survivor is the first goalkeeper of the team Marcos Danilo, who was brought to the hospital. There are still no information if his life is in danger.
09:00 - In the meantime, mayor of the city La Keha sounded, the place where the plane crashed. He claims that there are at least 25 people who died in the crash, but he believes the number of victims is far greater.
09:06 - It is confirmed that Himena Suarez, crew members, is the third survivor in the crash.
09:10 - Two survivors, goalkeeper Danilo and defender Ruschel sat together in the plane. This is their picture they made during the flight or before the takeoff.

09:12 - Total disaster has been avoided thanks to the pilot who was in the moments aware that he is losing control over the aircraft and managed to empty the fuel tanks and prevent the plane from exploding on impact.

09:26 - Rough terrain, weather conditions and dark make the rescue action difficult. Their evacuation can't be performed by helicopters, but only by land.
09:35 - Local radio transmits that the plane which crashed used to fly the national teams of Argentina and Venezuela.
09:40 - The families of the players gathered in the rooms of the Chapecoense FC waiting for any news about their family.

09:48 - General Jose Acevedo Ossa, who conducts the rescue operation, said that 75 people lost their lives in the crash, and that six survived.
09.51 - The name of the fourth survivor appeared, the forth injured. It is Brazilian journalist Rafael Henzel who traveled with the Chapecoense team to report from the game. He is hospitalized in the "San Juan De Dios" hospital in La Keha.
10:11 - Fifth survivor is reserve goalkeeper of the Brazilian team Jakson Follmann (24).
