CHARGE TO LESKOVAC: Search for the 300kg pot with gold! (PHOTO)

People from Podrim said that in their village near Leskovac, greater amount of gold was found during the works on the water network in near Pasina cesma. Locals, namely claim that the the workers dug up with an excavator a pot with gold few weeks ago, but the workers of "Telekomunikacije" company from Blace said no one has seen anything like that.

- At the moment we had fun with the locals who pass there and they asked if we dug something up. Maybe some of my colleagues said that they found a pot with gold, but it went too far. Do you really think we would be still working here if we found something like that? - asks the workers of the company Svetolik Petrovic, who has been doing similar jobs for the past 40 years and he claims he never found anything more valuable than the peace of iron.

This story leaked out around Leskovac and gold searchers already went to dig around the neighboring field. There are even some that claim they saw it all....

- I was on a field, in strawberries, when i saw some 50 meters away that group of workers gathered. I thought they dug up something, but i didn't even dream it is a cup. After that i hear that the workers found 300 kilos of gold, said the neighbors - said Ljiljana Cvetkovic (73) from this village for jugmedija.rs.

The claims are beneficial because Podrimce is famous archaeological sight from the Roman period.

- In the sixties of the last century, Podrimce was registered as a archaeological sight. Bronze hand was discovered belonging to he full size statute, and 137 pieces of silver money - said Julijana Pesic, the Curator of the National Museum in Leskovac, and she does not cast away the possibility that something was found now.

She appeals that these kind of things should be brought to the National Museum.

Yugoslav Government regulation on the treatment of the found items, which was passed back in 1949, prevented the acquisition of private property if the item was found under any circumstances. If it emerges that the objects found is a cultural property, it is regulated by the Law on Cultural Property.

Finders will eventually be able to satisfy with finders award, only with the condition that while finding it, the budget resources were not used. The reward is determined by he protection institution which will receive the object for safekeeping.
