From Sapic to Bogdanovic: They didn't ask for excuses, but they thought how to be even bigger champions on time

Group of students is dominated by water polo players, athletes, basketball players, swimmers, handball players, tennis players, but there are also players like Marko Grujic and other members of the golden youth national team from New Zealand, which receive full grant from the Faculty of Management in Sport ALFA BK University.

- Our former students are now renowned sports experts, who receive the prizes as the most successful managers of the national sports federations, which beyond the borders of Serbia prove effectiveness of the way we teach taking them to the highest professional positions in the most severe international competition. This is not surprising because our students are often top athletes who won over 150 medals from the Olympic Games, world and European championships. There are water polo players, football players, athletes, basketball players, swimmers, handball players, tennis players and athletes from many other sports. That's why we say - our students, our strength - said the dean of the faculty, prof. Dr. Dragan Zivotic.

The success of the faculty is recognized by those who showed their knowledge with their work.

- Far from academic formalism and bureaucratic approach to the work that we do, we are constantly analyzing the work of successful sports professionals and we are ready to recognize successful and established empiricists. Thus, among others we give an honorary doctorate to Veljko Paunovic, the coach, who showed in the best way what the Managment of the training technology means - explained Zivotic.

Olympic silver medalist and basketball player Bogdan Bogdanovic is among the students today. How he manages to study in the best years of his career?

- If someone doesn't want to learn something, you can't make them. But, if someone does, he can learn pretty quickly. We are adopting modern technology, and i don't see why would some Bogdanovic would not join the lecture even though he is in Istanbul after his training - said Zivotic, renowned athletic hero.

Faculty of Management in Sport celebrated its 15 years of existence. In November 2001 they signed the first-generation of students. Zivotic explained that from the experience gained from the establishment of the first universities and the establishment of BK University, the bold idea of few professors and affirmed sports experts was accepted, to go for the really challenging task, to found a faculty for the most successful field in Serbia, in sport. And so, fifteen years ago a visionary of the BK Group, Mr. Bogoljub Karic, immediately recognized the idea and decided to embark on the challenging task of forming a Faculty of Management in Sport.

The chance to study with the people Serbia is the most proud with is one of the most tempting features of this faculty, but the most important is that every student, in a modern and practical way adopts the knowledge from the sports management.

- Sports Management, as the area that is characterized with distinctive convenience in operation, requires the future specialists to get familiar on the field with the issues that will follow them in their professional activities. For this reason, our students are practicing in the most important sports organizations in the country, such as sports clubs Partizan and Red Star, the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Republic Institute for sport, as well as in many other sports organizations, unions and associations - said prof. Dr. Dragan Zivotic.
