In the base of the monastery of Holy Mother of God, in the village Mrtvica in Grdelicka gorge, due to the heavy rains, the rock that  obstructed one of the roads to the church eroded and is now in danger to the dormitory itself.

According to Predrag Iskrenovic, believer who found himself in a monastery, the entire residence is in danger.

Due to the large amounts of water that poured and moved the rocks and boulders, monastery dormitory is in danger.

The entire building is in great danger, and already there are some signs on the wall that it began to separate.

- The water has undermined the foundations of living quarters, and at any moment it can collapse, if something is not done urgently and some kind of retaining wall is built - said Iskrenovic.

Director of the Directorate for Building Land and Roads of Vladicin Han Caslav Mladenovic said that the teams went to Mrtvica.

- I heard what happened this morning. It has already been organized for the rocks and water to be removed, the teams are on the field and it should be solved - said Mladenovic.

The monastery church in the village Mrtvica is placed on the rock, and in its bed, there is a dormitory. The foundations of the church date from the earliest periods of Christianity.

Currently, only one nun is in the monastery.
