WAR RAGES FOR DAYS IN SERBIA AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT: Cannons echo on this mountain and enemies keep attacking (PHOTO)

Peasants on Zlatar discovered how to protect buckwheat and potatoes with unusual invention from wild boars and badgers. Wildlife gets used to scare crows and fences, but the only salvation for the harvest is "gas artillery".

Villagers on Zlatar asked in wonder, in the middle of the night listening to the unusual fire, like the artillery: "Do the cannons fire on Zadar", "Is the ground shaking on the East?!". Weekenders and guests, who's dream was disturbed, complained in the morning: "It sounds, brother, like St Ilija!", writes Glas Zapadne Srbije.

And those were, on the general satisfaction of old families and small number of youth in the scattered villages - gas cannons, defending the harvests of buckwheat and potato from wild boars and badgers, sending them running. 

"Rat" is well under way because the reaping of "black grains" was delayed due to rainy summer, and the extraction of potato is in full swing.

- I saved a plantation of buckwheat from the menace in Ogradica and Ladna Voda. Only one night i was late and the wildlife entered, few days before the harvest and arrival of combine. Luckily, on every other night the cannon dispersed them - said the first gunner from Misevac, Mikica Prelic.

When he was preparing to guard the plantation from pests with two rows on wire, Prelic found out on the internet for the cannon from the Turkish manufacturer in Krusevac, and he payed 30.000 for it, now there are much cheaper ones.

This device was brought in the Aljinovacko Polje by Mine Draskovic from Mocioc, to guard his potatoes, and Obrad Saponic from Radijevic and Srdjan Lojanic from Akmacic decided to buy it as well.

Villagers are slowly moving the cannon on the new position. It doesn't need the crew, and the training without powder and shells is short: you program the time of fire, maybe 15, or 30 minutes or more often, and the spark from the battery sparks the gas. With the fire, you can see the flames at night, claim the highlanders.

- Well, the one who invented this - thanks to him to the ends of time! They infested the caves of the gorges of Veljusnica and the forests of Zlatar, there were never this many, and they take what little we have left from the fog and the rains. Just when a peasant should take some money from buckwheat, which is in demand, the neighbors from some lots have nothing to take to the barn - bitter old Milos Tomasevic.

The highlanders remind that their problems are no smaller than Kocic's David Strbac. Clever badgers, and boars, grow dull on everything, just like government, they don't care about scarecrows, nylon, strips, fences...

- What kind of scarecrows, they rub themselves on them -  laments Dragan Colovic. "We guarded till midnight, and then we put the volume up on radio. If we turned our back on them, badgers rush in, and later the whole military can't take them out.

What they don't eat, they stomp. Even though the seeds were not ripe, i had to reap around 30 acres, i could at least have for a pie. 

Village jokes make fun on the owners and gunners. They say that these devices will "get some feet".

The tired neighbor were woken up in the middle of the night by mobile to change the radio station in the field because "the beasts answer where there is no guards".
