WOLVES TERRORIZING CROATIAN VILLAGES: Marko sleeps with his sheep to save them, beasts spread fear on every step (VIDEO)

Citizens of Lisane Ostrovicki in the background of Zadar have been fighting the wolf's attacks for years in vain, and the authorities can not offer any solution because wolf is legally protected species, the fine for illegal killing is 40.000 kuna (5.329 euros).

The bite of the guardian dog is the latest proof of the wolf attack in Lisane Ostrovicli, reports dnevnik.hr.

- I came to him and i put some light on the world. I tossed two firecrackers to scare him. Sheep rose to their feet - told Marko Mamic.

Because of the danger Marko often sleeps near his pack. In the field not far away from the place where the predator almost became too familiar with.

- I see him quite often, he comes by the fence. I lite it with searchlight and he is standing still. He comes around the house in the winter, he can pick up the scent where the ship go - said Marko.

Wolf did some damage to Stipa pack as well. With 9 dead sheep, Stipe received compensation of 2.700 kuna (3579 euros). If he killed the wolf he would pay 40.000 kuna (5329 euros).

The locals had enough two years ago when the wolf attacked the pack 200 meters from the school. The municipality asked from the Ministry of Environment for permission to approve hunting of wolves, but they did not get it with the explanation:

- The basis for immediate intervention exists if an individual or a group of wolves repeatedly come to the same place in the vicinity of human settlements, while also showing a reduced fear of people, repeatedly doing the same type of damage, and additional safeguards and driving away of wolves did not help - says from the Ministry of environmental protection.

The locals warn that it is happening. Wolves spread fear, and there is no help until they see its the right time to start shooting them.
