Unimaginable strength and willpower of steel are their greatest virtues. They do not whine over their destiny, but make their life as they want it to be. They turned their weakness into strength, and the kick that life has given them they return to their opponents and they rush for medals. It is time to meat our para-taekwondo athletes

We were on the national team training  para-taekwondo athletes, they are preparing for the European championship in Warsawafter the noticeable success on the state championship. An the entrance, we walk upon the proudly displayed diplomas and medals, and the general secretary of the para-taekwondo union of Serbia and the owner of the taekwondo club "Cobra" said that this is only the begging with a smile on his face.

We saw that it is truly the case when we stepped into the hall where para - taekwondo athletes dressed and prepared. Their energy and facial expressions told us they know no defeat, and that the persistent fight is well known for them , we were immediately convinced that they will certainly do their best and will return to Serbia with a handful of medals.

That they are "destined" to success is already apparent when you see that beautiful girl, Dejana Backo (22), who without her upper extremities puts her shoes on using her feet, and she does all that with the sparking smile and with the energy of a fighter.

Yes, that is Dejana Backo, she is a true hero! She contacted me a few months ago, added me on Facebook and she started training and showed remarkable talent. Her will and desire for success demolishes all obstacles and prejudice. It is an honor working with her and with these people, who showed anything is possible and that there is no excuse for being lazy - said the coach Aleksandar Andevski.

Dejana, who finished the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, proved that for her there are no obstacles.

I already accomplished my greatest desire, i became a painter. Despite all discrimination and insults while i was growing up, i managed to discover the strength within myself and clear the path toward success. I am trying to live normally and follow my desires, so if i want to train taekwondo - i do so , and i recommend others to do the same - advises this pretty and cheerful girl.

As he told us, and coach Aleksandar was surprised by the energy and strength of young para - taekwondo athlete.

I train taekwondo as well, i just recently started training para athletes and i remained stunned with their dedication and strength. Dejana is an example how hard they try, and they make up for their physical  disability with willpower, desire and incredible gift they have - and that it they never give up -  the coach is sincere.

The training has already started, and it seemed that hey had more and more power as the time passed by. Among them, not falling behind, was a woman who did the training with the rest of them which had the greatest disability. Her name is Danijela Jovanovic (47) and since she had no hands or feet, it doesn't bind her not to do the training and rush for the medal.

I started training this year in March, and i am also doing mountain climbing and bicycling. People find all sorts of excuses and justify their inactivity. I am example that there is no obstacle that is insuperable - said the woman who whipped us off of our feet.

Dejana Backo, Slavko Adamov, Nemanja Miljkovic, Danijela Jovanovic, Ana Simovic Tomic, Teodora Jovic, Dusan Marisavljevic, Aleksandar Ivanovic are all our national team representatives that will present Serbia on the European competition of para - taekwondo athletes in Warsaw.

Some of them do not have arms, or legs, but at the moment, have indefinite will to live and progress! They are the people that bring faith in life, and they deserve our admiration and support!

We wish them to return from Poland with medals and to show to everybody that anything is possible - only if you wish for it hard enough!
