HE SELLS HIS KIDNEY BECAUSE OF HOUSE LOAN: Life drama makes people sell their organs!

  • 0

In the sea of different advertisements on the internet, there is no surprise one can find an ad where someone sells a kidney

Even though it was within the limits of laughter in the past years, 40 people listed an add in Serbia willing to sell this organ, and they ask from 20.000 up to 80.000 euros. The prices are determined mostly by the debts they have, urgency and so on...

Difficult life stories usually hide behind these offers. Dejan's (40) story is one of them, because of the difficult financial situation, the only salvation he sees is in selling one of his kidneys for 50.000 euros.

- I am in a really desperate financial situation. Three sick children and wife. This is the only thing i have left - said Dejan, who claims he is not afraid of the surgery, as much as he is of his existence.

His troubles began when he took a loan for a house, and then lost his job. Wages contracts for 1,500 dinars are not enough to feed the family, and not even to pay 250 euro installments for the house.

- The bank tried to sell our house twice already, luckily no one bought it. My daughter is sick, she lost an eye because she had a tumor. Now she has prosthesis. One son has asthma, other one headaches, nose bleeding, and some doctors say he has heart murmur. Mine old and sick mother is with us. We live in the village. I pray every night that someone doesn't come and throw us out on the street - said Dejan for Alo.

He believes that selling his kidney would solve his problems. Extenuating circumstance for Dejan is, and for all other, that selling of these organs is not forbidden by the Criminal Code of Serbia

- The health professional who participates in the process of transplantation, if he suspect that the body was the subject of commercial trade is obliged to refuse participation in the process of transplantation and immediately inform the competent authorities. On the other hand, the advertising itself criminally prohibited - said for Alo! Slobodan Soskic, lawyer.
