Thanks to them, Serbia is currently the only country outside European Union which has, so called timing project within "Horizon 2020", the greatest EU program for research and innovations, with the budget of over 80 billion euros.
- Timing is a part of the activity conducted in "Horizon 2020", and the goal is supporting less developed regions of Europe so they could achieve standards of the developed countries. If they pass into the second stage of "timing", that could be our biggest project in "Horizon 2020" - said prof. Dr Viktor Nedovic, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technological development, in charge of international cooperation.
In the "BioScience" center there are currently six scientific research groups, as well as the group for nano and micro electronics, communications, robotics and mechatronics, sweet water ecology... The final goal is for this to become European center of excellence for advance technologies in the field of sustainable agriculture and food safety, one of nine in Europe.
"BioScience" is working on introducing advanced informational technologies in agriculture, food safety, ecology, protecting life environment and forestry. They were the part of the global news when they announced that they will create a component for the probe that will be sent by the European space agency to the Jupiter in 2022.
