LJUBISA HAS NO JOB, NO MONEY, BAD HEALTH, BUT HE HAS NEIGHBORS: Is this the best village in Serbia? (PHOTO)
- We wanted to ask the Elektrosumadija to help us and turn on the electricity to this man as humanitarian aid - said the villagers of Bare
The locals of the village Bare in the Sumadija municipality Kac decided to help his neighbor Ljubisa Filipovic (46), who can not afford to pay for electricity because he has no job, no money or health to pay off the debt.

He hasn't seen an turned on light bulb for two years, and the debt for electricity make just that single light bulb, because Ljubisa doesn't have a single appliance.
Ljubisa Filipovic doesn't have anyone. He lack in health, both mental and physical. But he has neighbors.
Because of his health conditions, only those who love him dearly or has endless patience can help Ljubisa. You can't find brothers like that anymore, but few neighbors are like brothers. Few neighbors from the village are asking the authorities to turn on the electricity for Ljubisa, they will play the bill.
In the short conversation, Ljubisa talked a bit nervously and without much order about his esophagus operation he had and doctors. When asked about electricity, he just pointed at the cable cut two years ago.
- My house was full once, we were real household, and now both houses are collapsing. I cut grass at plum plantation as much as i can. Don't go inside the house, why you wanna look at my misery, you don't have to take a picture of broken light bulb - Ljubisa gets mad and then he adds: "Let me get you something, i know the order in the house".
His neighbor Tomislav Radonjic watches the grass quietly and shrugs his shoulders in Ljubisa's yard where the houses and the barn testify that two, three decades ago wealthy household was here, while there was still luck and health.
- Ljubisa had a tough life. His father died early. When he went to the military, only dog awaited his return. Grandparents died, mother remarried and went away. He worked in Kragujevac for 23 years in the factory "Filip Kljajic", the company broke down and he remained alone in his property. He lost his nerves some ten years ago. Now he works for some occasional daily wage. His utmost respect goes to the doctors that operated on his esophagus. On the wall of a room where he won't take us, he wrote the names of the doctors, Dr Matovic, Dr Radovanovic and Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic. He prays for their health. I have never seen that - tells Radonjic.
He said that few neighbors buy Ljibisa cigarettes, take him to the doctors, invite him to lunch.
- When he comes to me in the evening i know he is hungry, it eats my heart out. I give him diner, i send him something. He eats only peers, apples and plums now. I once called him to the roasted pig, he ate so much, he laid down sick for three days. He is more hungry than full. Others would help him too, but Ljubisa is sometimes very hard man, and people lose their patience. He receives help in packages from the Center for Social Work, but sometimes, he doesn't know how to use it. Someone should help him get the papers and receive invalidity pension, but there is no one. We won't let him deteriorate, even when he yells at us, even when he does not want any help, but we also need help in order to help him - begs Radonjic.
Everything accounted, locals of the village Bare decided to provide at least electricity to Ljibisa, a light bulb and a radio, so he doesn't have to live like a homeless man with his yellow dog with the first dark.
- We wanted to ask Elektrosumadija (electric distribution company) to help is for humanitarian reasons and turn the power on for this man. I know Slavisa had a debt of 6.000 dinars, and i don't know if there are some older debts from his late grandfather, few decades old. Let them turn it on, and we will pay for what Ljubisa spends - said Tomislav Radonjic.
Neighbor Dragoslav Dobricic from Bar adds that 5 locals help Ljubisa all the time, but it would be good if Center for Social Work take some part of it, to get Ljubisa invalidity pension, if he has rights on it. Ljubisa wages now and gets a few dinar, but in the days when he is nervous and difficult to cooperate, no one calls him to work.
