On Friday night, around 1:40 AM near Zrenjanin, in Zitiste, club Makijato, there was a massacre where 5 people lost their lives and 22 were injured.

Sinisa Zlatic (1978) walked in the club and fired multiple rounds from the automatic riffle and murdered his ex wife Dijana and one more female, he then continued to fire to the citizens that were present in the club, reported from the police. Vladimir Mijatovic (40), Stevan Jojic (40) both from Zitiste and Vladimir Kosovic (34).
Members of the Ministry of internal affairs arrested Zlatic and the investigation is in progress. Murder happened during the traditional manifestation "Pile Fest".
As media discovered, jealous Zlatic first walked in the club, saw his ex wife sitting with few people, then he returned with the weapon.
Two people died on sight, and three in the hospital. At least 4 out of 22 injured suffered serious injuries.
Minister of internal affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic is on the scene. He said that the police officers, who were nearby, ran in and arrested Zlatic as soon as they heard the gun shots, who was not resisting arrest. The suspect for quintuple murder in Zitiste fired from the automatic rifle that he illegally possessed, but the situation was entirely unexpected and there was no indications of the tragedy that occurred.
It is suspected that it was the act of jealousy, because the first on the line of fire was his ex wife, while many other were injured or were tragically killed, said the minister. Situation was entirely unexpected, because the suspect did not have a single violation, nor criminal charges, said Stefanovic.
The ambulance was first to arrive, then the medical crew from Zrenjanin, said Stefanovic adding that the police also arrived in under a minute.
- It is the most important now to help the families and the injured - said the minister.
Stefanovic pointed out that this is a tragedy that hasn't been seen in Serbia in a long time.
- We are all shocked with what has happened considering that it was a man that was entirely calm and had no record or any charge in the police - said Stefanovic.
He added that after the night of the murder of the people, it is good that the person was arrested immediately and it is important to provide medical assistance to the injured people in the shortest possible time and to try to make the tragedy smaller, so no one else has to lose their life, since he received the information that four more people have been seriously injured.
