Croatia removed BARRICADE FENCE at the border with Serbia (PHOTO)
The barricade fence on the border crossing Batina, between Croatia and Serbia, has been removed yesterday in the afternoon hours.
Let us remind ourselves, on Wednesday around 20:00 PM the traffic was stopped from both Croatian and Serbian side, without previous announcement or explanation, and in the morning the fence was being set up.
- In order to prevent possible illegal entry in Croatian Republic over the border crossing Batina, according to the based on the article 7 of the law on State Border Control (NN 83/13) technical obstacles were preventively set up which can be activated if there is need and according to the safety situations, for complete blockade of the bridge, the road that leads toward the mentioned crossing. In the moment, there are no security threats in the area - reported from Ministry of internal affairs of Croatia on Thursday.
In the first migrant wave the barricade fence were set up at the border crossing Baranjsko Petrovo Selo, but over at the Hungarian side. This is the first time Croatia has lifted the fence towards some neighboring country.
