HE IS 94 AND HIS DRIVER'S LICENCE GOT EXTENDED TO 2018: Pavao is the oldest driver in Serbia!

Pavao Mackovic from Subotica is 94 years old, he reads without glasses, he has a perfect hearing and he is the oldest active driver in Serbia. He recently extended his driver's licence.

Pavao claims that he still drives with no difficulties, his got his first licence in 1942. He extended recently his licence to 2018 in Subotica police department.

- Doctors looked at me and they were shocked that i still read without glasses, my hearing is excellent and my heart works like its a boy's heart - said for Informer Pavao Mackovic.

His memory took him 74 years before, when he was taking his driver's test.

- I was almost 20 when engineer from Pesta came to question me for my driver's exam. There were no handbooks back then, and i was a mechanic for three years by then and i have driven cars, so the exam was not hard for me. Since then, i changed two Hungarian licences, two Yugoslavian, military and civilian, then one from Montenegro, because i lived 20 years in Budva, and now i have Serbian - remembers Paveo.

God knows how many kilometers i went, both in motorcycles and in cars, and now i cross them with bicycle. Last year alone i went more than 1.000 kilometers with my bicycle - said this vital man from Subotica.

He said that doctors congratulated me after the examination and extended my licence for 2 more years.

During his driver's life he changed cars from "Moskvitch" to "Corsa", which he drives now.

- As a car mechanic i knew not to buy some old car, because when the repairs start, there is no end to it. So i bought new "Fica" (Zastava 750), and after 10 years another one, then i had two "Renault 4", then "Fiat 850", after "Renault 5" and now i drive "Corsa" - remembers Mackovic and adds:

- I had luck for all 74 years, i have never had any accident for all the years i have been behind a wheel, and i went almost around the world. 

His vitality lies in recipes he never deviates from.

- The most dangerous thing in life is being lazy, so, it is desirable to always do something. I exercise at least 20 minutes a day, then there is a massage, everything in its own order. Besides that, one should be modest in eating, drinking and of course should be away from night life. 

He said that the glass of rosemary brandy is good for the heart, and also is important not to wish for impossible things in life and that the happiness in life is fulfillment.
