NEW BELGRADE WATERFRONT: This is how it will look like! (PHOTO)
The area of block 18, which is across the road from Belgrade waterfront, between tramway bridge and Gazela bridge, received its own vision. The winning solution of architectural and urban competition has been chosen according to which the Plan will be done of detailed regulation and development of this attractive part of the city.

The city urbanist Mr Milutin Folic stressed that on this occasion survey of urban architectural competition for the block 18 on the coast of Sava river just another in a line of similar ones that city is organizing for professional experiments, check in area, what and in what way is the best to plan and build in this part of the city.
- The number and the quality of works have completely contributed with variety and quality to the process that follows, planned construction, evaluation of staging and the priority of realization that have to be in sync with modern flows of city building and market checks. Actualization of the object solution "blocks in the urban modulation" and the pace of the feasibility are displayed in the first awarded solution - said Folic and adding that other aspect of this solutions, as well as the fragments of rewarded and bought off works, are becoming the part of the whole for the future steps of the development.
Business towers are especially dominating in the solution which are next to the highway and they frame the lines of the Gazela bridge towards the other blocks. Along the Vladimir Popovic street two houses will be built finishing the urban move across the Sava center, Hyatt hotel, Geneks apartments... The towers won't be higher than 100 meters.
Special attraction on the coast will be building of cultural facilities like music concert hall, modern gallery and the museum.
By introducing local circular line with modern cordless trolley - shuttle, which should connect Sava square and old train station over 2 rails, the future monument of culture with new center of block 18 would lead to recognizable and successful tourist and ecological attraction.
The space between Old Sava bridge and Gazela bridge, across Belgrade waterfront, will have 46.8 hectares. The concurs has been set by Directorate of Land in cooperation with the Association of architects of Serbia and the best work was chosen by the jury - architect Mirjana Milanovic, prof. Dr Ljuljana Blagojevic, Nebojsa Minjevic and academic prof. Milan Lojanica.
