SLOVENES AND CROATS ON BAD TERMS: Full with unresolved bilateral issues
Minister for foreign affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec marked that the relationships between Ljubljana and Zagreb burdened with unresolved bilateral issues.
In the interview for the agency APA, regarding the 25th anniversary of the Slovenia's independence, he warned about neglecting the border conflict between Slovenia and Croatia.
Unresolved issues is a serious burden for political relationships, emphasized Erjavec adding that Ljubljana insists on international arbitration.
The solution of the border between two former Yugoslavian countries has never been found, and the greatest conflict is around the Pirana border.
Erjavec emphasizes that the tho neighbors should resolve the question of the border in the constructive way, in compliance with the achieved agreements. Slovenia, as he adds, believes that the question will be solved by the court of arbitration, which was created, together with Croatia, especially for those purposes.
- We must not neglect the question of the border, nor further postpone it, because it complicates the cooperation in certain areas, as well the projects on the border - warned Erjavec.
He told about the relationship with Austria with praise, stressing that the cooperation regarding the migrant crisis additionally strengthens their relationship.
- Both states expressed political maturity in these migrant crisis and the readiness for honest cooperation - concluded Erjavec.
