May award, the highest social-sports award, to the first man of Athletic Association of Serbia was deliver by Predrag Perunicic.
This prestigious reward goes to the right hands, when we look at the accomplishments in 2015.
- I congratulate to all winners of May award. This is the great honor for me. Athletics has won 383 medals during my term, made 7 athletic stadiums, athletic hall and we plan on making new ones. Thanks to everyone who recognized the queen of all sports as the winner of this award. We brought athletics back to nation.
- The reward in its entirety i want to donate to young judo athlete for treatment. Athletic association of Serbia will also donate funds as well as company Comtrade. These are the moments when we should ll be united and humane - said Veselin Jevrosimovic on this occasion.
ATHLETICS AMONG THE MOST STABLE IN SERBIA
Serbia and Belgrade got their first Athletics hall, (started and finished during the term of Jevrosimovic), which is probably, the most important sports infrastructure in the last few decades.
During the 2015 and in start of 2016., Serbia was especially active in athletics.
Our key organization, with the lead of Jevrosimic hosted the first man of world athletics Sebastian Coe, who was a guest during the Balkan gathering in Vrsac. Together with Sergej Bubka, Coe has especially credited the work of Serbian Association saying that it was never stronger, during the term of Jevrosimovic.
The construction of the track in Krusevac, and the beginning of the construction of new and modern athletic stadium in Novi Pazar, are definitely the changes that athletics need and that will stay in it in the future.
Of course, the preparations for the European Indoor Championship is already in progress. Organized promotions around schools, and in Saturday we will begin to public gatherings in downtown Belgrade, where our athletes will promote the event, which is, by recent words of Dane Korica, the biggest in Serbia in the past 50 years.
It is a special story about stability of the Association and the possibility for athletes to perform quality preparation around the world. From Montenegro and Spain, to Southern Africa.
Jevrosimovic, as a crown of his progress as a head of Athletic Association, sees the nomination and winning the organization of the World Indoor Championship in 2020.
Besides Jevrosimovic, the reward for the officials of the year received Goran Bojovic, Miodrag Maslar and Sisisa Jasnic.
