SERB RAN THROUGH FLAMES BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO MARRY HIM: Viktor traveled 80 countries, met pirates, healed by witchdoctor... (PHOTO)

- I traveled more than 80 countries, and i have been traveling since my teen days. I am not sure when this desire occurred in me - it seems its a part of my character, i was born with it. I travel easy and naturally, which is not the case with everybody, especially in some rough areas. Bombing and the difficulties of traveling with our passport, especially before, even though it's not great even now, woken the spite in me to show that it is possible to go around the world with Serbian passport - says Viktor Lazic, literate, lawyer and one of the greatest Serbian traveler, man known as Serbian who traveled the world with "Lada".

Belgrade will seek from EU the abolition of Schengen visas for all

He never went on a road with high budget, and where he went he always found some work to keep his travel possible.

When he graduated from Law college, his family bought him a "Lada" with which he traveled lots of countries. What is interesting is that Viktor carried his doll Mileva with him. Since he always goes alone, it is safer if two are in the car. He sets her up during the night so if someone was to attack them, they would attack her first.

On his journey to Indonesia lots of strange things happened to Viktor, once they almost married him in a tribe, he also met real pirates.

Both things happened on the magical Sumatra: from his "not bride to be" i barely ran away, running across the slopes of volcanoes and changing more vehicles. I wasn't planning on getting married, far from it: simple statement that i liked a girl and a bit of flirt locals understood as a sign for marriage and they threw me a celebration tomorrow morning. I wasn't aware at first that it was about my marriage - says Viktor.

On our request to describe to us this "untried wedding" Viktor said that he fled head over horizon from that place for more than 18 hours, reports portal "SrbijaDanas".

- In the morning i woke up and the ceremony started, i was happy because i got to see their traditional wares and customs. When i asked what they were doing, they said its about my wedding. I ran more than 18 hours. In that chase i got really sick, i even thought i wont be able to make it home alive....

I wondered onto another tribe, where there is matriarchal rule - women with the right of ownership! Men don't even posses their own clothes I was treated by a local witch doctor, he claimed that the former tribe put a curse on me - describes Viktor and said that more details about this incredible event you can read in his book "In the heart of Sumatra", and look at the photos on his Facebook page.

To Viktor it often happened that he completely ended up on a different part of the world from where he was heading.

- I don't chose a country, it chooses me. I let my feelings take me, so i easily change plans, depending on the situation. I want to visit as many countries in the world, so i am taking my chances - whatever they may be. But i am very systematic and i like to really explore the parts i am going through. That means long stays wherever i go.

- So far i could have easily traveled every country in the world if i wanted to, but my goal is to have quality stay everywhere, to meet in detail and everything i experience to pass on to our people with my travels and Museum of a book i am making - he says and adds he is seeking for knowledge: - Journeys are like a book, one that doesn't travel always reads the same page, said ST Agustin.

The longest trip he was on was 421 days long, and he traveled with his "Lada Niva" to Vladivostok over the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia and East Timor to Australia. On that journey he spent 65 nights bed and 308 in his "Lada", the rest on the open.

- Now i am focused on making the Museum of book and travels and Museum of Serbian literature in Belgrade so i don't travel more than four or five months at once. I am 9th generation in my family that collects books and 6th since my grand-grandfather Aleksandar Lazic opened his family library to the public in late 1882.

Important reason of my travels is certainly enriching of the family library and the Museum i opened. I brought more than tens of thousands of books from more than 80 countries. The most interesting are probably the ones on the most unusual materials, for example, with decorated covers made from marble or bones, on bamboo sticks, edible from rice or inedible from elephant feces. The wonderful world of books it is, and that world is the mirror of human civilization, the best there is - says Viktor.
