SERBIA THE CENTER OF EUROPE: Congress of micro surgeons in 2018. in Belgrade
On recently held European congress of micro surgeons in Antalya in Turkey, was confirmed that the next congress of this prestigious association will be held in Belgrade in 2018. For the association president and the president of next congress was elected professor Marko Bumbasirevic, orthopedic surgeon, professor of Medical school University of Belgrade.
This association in its members have people from microsurgery from European countries with specialization in orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery and hand surgery, but it also have surgeons with other specializations who are qualified in micro surgery.
The gathering of this elite science congress represents great significance for medicine in Serbia, for Belgrade and Serbia itself.
Microsurgery as the most complex discipline allows reattaching severed limbs, reconstruction of damaged nerves and transplantation of different parts of a body and organs. Microsurgery currently experiences true renaissance because of the more increasing facial transplantation, extremities, esophagus and other organs, and announced a head transplantation.
This discipline is also necessary during the implantation of latest prosthesis which are called bionic arms and legs and in great percentage replace the functions of the missing limb.
Because of the professional and science reputation, professor Bumbasevic, on the congress in Belgrade, besides the experts from Europe, expects participation of greater number of respected surgeons from other continents. Their arrival was already confirmed by eminent experts from USA, Japan, Korea, India and other countries.
