CROATIA SEEKS WORKERS FROM SERBIA: They need 42.000 people for these jobs

Croatia's economy is facing a great problem - lacking of season workers. This year the country will need 42.000 of workers.

Croatia's "Poslovni dnevnik" (Business daily) says that there is currently a lack of season workers especially in branches of tourism and trade. Since the beginning of year there has been increased demands of employers for season workers so their number could top over the 42.000 from last year.

In 2015. in tourism and hotels, there were 21.877 seasonal workers hired, and it is expected far greater demand in this year, considering the growth of tourism and expected better results as well as leaving of Hospitality workers for EU, so the number of hospitality workers could grow up to 30.000.

- In this moment, despite the effort of Croatian national Bureau of Employment, there was only 10% interested for the job, so the question emerges how come such a great number of unemployed people is not even interested in hearing the conditions of employment - it was told on the meeting of Minister of work and pension system Nada Sikic and Anton Kliman, Minister of Tourism, together with the representatives of Croatian association of employers in the chambers of Ministry of Work and pension system.

Business daily reports that the announcement of the Croatian association of employers stands "if operational measures are not introduced, which are much needed in this moment, then there will certainly be a discussion about the quotas when hiring foreign citizens".
