Jelena Rankovic is only six years old, and for the past four weeks she has been fighting the biggest fight of her life. After two surgeries, three chemotherapies, numerous results and magnetic resonance imaging, a tumor the size of a fist was removed from Jelena's head

Sasa Rankovic is working in ambulance, he has three children, of which the youngest has a brain tumor since she was two years old. Together with his sons and wife, Sasa is struggling for Jelena's life. Little girl had her tumor the size of a fist removed from her brain, and yet she still doesn't have "the rights" for treatment in Banja Koviljaca resort because her parents were late to submit the request on time,  on which no one drew their attention to at the first place.

LIFE DRAMA OF JELENA JANKOVIC: Doctors thought I had cancer!

We visited him in the office he works in. Sasa greeted us generously, and in the envelope a lot of papers, medical exams, discharge lists...

Jelena Rankovic is only six years old, and for the past four weeks she has been fighting the biggest fight of her life. After two surgeries, three chemo therapies, numerous results and magnetic resonance imaging, a tumor the size of a fist was removed from Jelena's head. If it wasn't for a doctor Danica Grujicic in the department of Neurosurgery of Clinical Center of Serbia who operated on Jelena, who knows what would happen to her. Tumor is not advancing for now, and Sasa said the doctor is their savior.

- Since the day she had a surgery, in 2012., Jelena's life is in her own hands. I will be grateful to this woman as long as i live, when she took over the case of my daughter, my child is lively again. It's all alright now, thank God. Jelena is going to preschool, she is friendly, speaks normally, sees and hears - shares Rankovic.

After two surgeries, the tumor is gone, but the sickness that damaged her brain, affected the mobility of Jelena's leg. Girl can not move her foot normally and she has problem with joints and tendons. Because of that she is very passive, moves a little, and medications impacted her weight, so little Jelena has 40 kilograms and she is 6 years old now.

The treatment was supposed to be in Banja Koviljaca resort in which Jelena's foot would be fixed, but because of health administrations, she is not entitled to receive the treatment she needs.

Why? Because her parents were late in submitting the request for resort treatment. Republic Fund for Health Insurance refused her request to go to the spa for treatment just because her the parents violated the deadline of one month for submitting requests.

- Is it logical that in all that chaos, while I only want for doctors to tell me if my child will stay alive, i have to think about sending the request on time, and that there is a deadline? Should my girl miss the treatment in Koviljaca because of health administration and some deadlines that I didn't meet, and for which no one told me they exists? - Sasa tells the story for Telegraf.

Sasa decided to share his story with everyone that have the same problem and not to let it be just another refused request on paper. With people that spend days at doctors, with people who can not receive proper medical treatment because of administration and lack of care.

- You can't imagine my feelings when they told my child has a tumor. It is my youngest child, i have two older sons, and i wanted a girl so much, that knowing that struck me like a lightning - signs the father of little Jelena.

The man is a big fighter, he grew up in foster family, he worked as a locksmith, as a police man during the war and ended up in ambulance in the end. He stepped firmly through his life, and the situation with his daughter hit him severely. He wondered "why did I deserve such evil".

- There was no responce, when i found out about the dread news, i decided to fight with all my might, because if i fall down or go awry, so will my six year old. I am thinking about adopting a little "colt" - Sasa finishes his story.

Editorial stuff of Telegraf contacted the Republican Fund for Health Insurance, but even after many calls we could not get an answer.
