SERBIAN MATHEMATICIANS BEST IN THE BALKANS: Congratulations on the GOLD at the Olympics!
Serbian team of young mathematicians again won the gold medal, this time on the 33th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad for high school students in Albania.
The competition was organized from 5th to 8th May in Tirana, where young mathematicians from Serbia won two gold, one silver and three bronze medals, according to the Mathematical Society of Serbia.
Gold medals were won by Aleksa Milojevic and Igor Medvedev from the Mathematical High School in Belgrade.
Ognjen Tosic from the Mathematical High School in Belgrade won the silver medal and three bronze medals Aleksa Konstantinov and Nikola Sadovek, students of the Belgrade Mathematical Gymnasium and Nikola Pavlovic from high school "Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj" in Novi Sad.
This is the second time in 33 years that the Serbian team won first place in the Balkans.
The leaders of the Serbian team were Dr. Bojan Basic (Novi Sad) and Milos Milosavljevic (Nis).
