A priest from the city of Krusevac, Ivan Cvetkovic is the maker of this project, and he revealed that he has been thinking about this for several years, and that contemporary time showed that church too should be present on social networks.

- This is the network of the people who love Orthodox church, and of those in good will, no matter the religion. The main difference for creating this webpage is that Serbian Orthodox Church becomes more popular, as well as to promote church activities. The whole project is tied up with missionary department of SOC. Priests are joining this work, even though the official authorities are not aware of our page. Concept is similar to Facebook, users have their profile, they can create groups, connect, chat... Anonymity is not allowed in this place - revealed the priest Cvetkovic and added that they looked upon Russian social network, where their patriarch Kiril has his profile.

Speaking of the terms of use, it is not allowed to harass the members, insult them on racial, religion, and sexual base, or promoting heresy, debauchery, or other anti-church norms.

To defend his point of view, the priest said that Church has its own television, and that it is not clear to him why they would not take the chance to spread peace and love through Internet.

- To like means to love, and I have nothing against that someone can give God a like - he explained at the end.

In the Patriarchy they told for Telegraf internet portal that they will check everything, and from the Krusevac eparchy they stated that they have official Internet pages, and that Crkva.net is not one of them.
