However, data about the health are of women in the country are very unpleasant - every year in Serbia 4.100 women get diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1.600 women die!

Serbian National Assembly also took part on the National breast cancer prevention day, with pink lights as a symbol of prevention.

Ministry of Health started a National program of early breast cancer prevention in 2012 and established the office for prevention of malignancies.

The second cycle of organized breast cancer screening is going on, and according to the data from the office of the screening, 290 carcinomas were discovered, and 102 carcinomas were discovered in the second cycle.

Every woman is under the risk of getting breast cancer, and the best way to discover it and prevent it is regular health check depending on the age.

Institute of public health of the Railway workers will join the prevention process by presenting free of charge medical examination in the period from 8-18 hours.

These will include breast cancer exam, gynecologist and other examinations.

All the citizens can use this service, and they will not need any special referral.

Vice president of the Government, Zorana Mihajlovic, also stated that women should have medical examinations more often in order to prevent malignancies.

- One woman out of 8 women gets diagnosed with breast tumor. My message to all women is to be responsible to themselves and go regularly to get checked because breast cancer is curable in 90% of the cases if it is discovered on time - stated Mihajlovic.
