SERBIAN ACTOR WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN: His friends reveal how his last days looked like

The doyen of Serbian acting scene, Dragan Nikolic, spent his last year of life mostly in the hospital.

However, the legendary actor did not lose his sense of humor even though he suffered greatly after the operation of the bowels cancer, reports "Informer" news agency.

The movie director Zdravko Sotra was his friend and they spent time together until the last day.

- He would rarely walk in these past months. I tried to take him to the physiatrist so that he could walk more. That malady of his was a tough burden. He suffered a lot, but his positive spirit was unbreakable. He was aware of the disease which had caught him. His wife Milena took care of him, but I would rather not talk about those details - said Sotra.

One of the most important roles Dragan Nikolic had was the role of Flojd in the movie "Nacionalna klasa", where his girlfriend was played by an actress Gorica Popovic.

- Jokes were part of his defense mechanism. I did not visit him often because I did not want to be a burden to him. He kept his private life for himself. He fought his last battle along with his wife. I constantly asked about his condition through other colleagues - said Gorica.
