MIGRANTS CHANGED THE ROUTE: They are using Albania to go to EU

A great number of refugees from Syria is waiting to cross to Albania, stated the Integration Minister Klajda Gjoša.

The Minister stated that the piling of migrants on the Albanian border is the result of the decision of Macedonia to close the border for the migrants from Afghanistan and to start controlling the refugees from Syria and Iraq - reports AFP.

Still, it is unknown how many migrants exactly are waiting to cross the border.

Even though Macedonia and Albania are sharing the Greek border, Albania has not been seen as a possible migrant route to the EU.

Since July 2015, Albanian police have stopped a couple of hundreds of migrants coming illegally from Greece, reminds AFP.
