They walked to Auschwitz to present the problems migrants face while coming to Europe from Syria, Middle East, or Africa.
Dalibor and Srđan started their action on February 10 from the city of Zrenjanin, and according to their social network accounts, the smile due to the accomplished task faded when they saw the barbed wire and the gate of the death camp with the famous inscription - "Arbeit macht frei".
- By looking the tall chimneys of the crematoriums and gas chambers, we felt sorrow and horror. Again, we ask the question: How is it possible to do the same thing in XXI century as a solution for a problem - stated Papić Đurić and Piskrec.
They stated that it was their goal to reach the end of their destination with minimal cash flow, no place to sleep, and with minimum food supplies, just like the refugees.
- We tried to present the harsh conditions the migrants face every day who have been coming from war areas and going to the EU countries - stated the activists.
This international walking action was organized by the Anti-fascist organization from Zrenjanin, in cooperation with the Youth initiative from the city of Kikinda and the anti-fascist organizations from Serbia, Hungary, and Croatia.
