His moving life story touched the hearts of many people who did not sit idly and felt pity for him, but chose to act upon it.
- He got, first of all, love, care, and support, and then clothes (T-shirts, shirts, sweaters, jeans, jackets, underwear), shoes (warm boots), training equipment (sweatshirts, tracksuit, sneakers), even necessary glasses which he did not have up to now - stated Milan Stepanović.
All the extra supplies, the things that were too small for him, he donated to the Red Cross organization, happy for the chance to help someone in return.
Lazar still goes up every morning and runs 35 km from the city of Sombor to the town of Apatin, and back. He is still that modest guy, who for the next year has only two wishes.
- Lazar wants for everybody to have a happy and blessed new year and he hopes that in this year he could manage to fulfill two wishes: to continue to run marathons in Serbia and abroad, and that he would get the chance to help somebody else - stated Stepanović.
