Dusko Knezevic with former President of the USA: A "Clinton Global Initiative" meeting in New York

In an attempt to solve the world's greatest challenges, Bill and Chelsea Clinton host the 11th annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in New York, which will be held from the 26th until 29th of September, bringing together numerous current and former heads of state, more than 1,000 of the most influential leaders in business, government, civil society and philanthropy, amongst whom is the President of Atlas Group, Dusko Knezevic.

A statement from the Atlas Group announced that the annual meeting of CGI will also be attended by regional leaders including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania ,Edi Rama, President of the Croatian Republic, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Covic, and the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga.

Aside from the afore mentioned participants, the annual meeting of CGI will be also be attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy, Matteo Renzi, the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, the Founder and President of Soros Fund Management and the Open Society Institute, George Soros, Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, Co-Chair and Commissioner of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Melinda French Gates, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Muhammad Yunus.

The CGI Annual Meetings have thus far gathered more than 180 heads of state, 20 Nobel laureates and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and NGOs, including the greatest philanthropists and media representatives. Members of the CGI community have taken on more than 3,200 socially responsible commitments which are already improving the lives of more than 430 million people in over 180 countries.

The concept, which represents the core of the Clinton Global Initiative, has been promoted in Montenegro in May of 2011, due to Dr. Knezevic's invitation to become a member of CGI, at which time President Clinton visited Montenegro and participated in the inaugural conference "Balkan Networking for Social Empowerment of South-Eastern Europe", organized by the Government Montenegro and the Atlas Foundation. The President of Atlas Group became a member of CGI in 2010, and its previous annual gatherings were attended by Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in 2014, and Igor Luksic in 2011.
