VUČIĆ MET COE: We will have the best audience that European Athletics has not seen!

The Serbian Prime Minister said at the meeting with the President of the World Association of Athletics Federations that our country will be a good host of the European Championship 2017.

Immediately after the end of the Balkan Congress at which Serbia received Vice-President in the next term, the world athletic elite, headed by IAAF President Sebastian Coe is was in the cabinet of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the World Association of Athletics Federations Sergey Bubka, the president of the Athletic Federation of Serbia Veselin Jevrosimovic, the General Secretary of ASS Slobodan Brankovic, the Minister of Youth and Sport of Romania Gabriela Szabo, the President of the European Athletics Federation Sven Arne Hansen and the President of the Balkan Association of Athletics Federations Dabromir.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Vucic said that he was extremely honored by the arrival of the delegation of the World Association of Athletics Federations, the members of which are world famous athletes such as Sebastian Coe and Sergey Bubka.

He stressed that the Serbian government supports athletes and invests in sport, especially athletics, as evidenced by the number of results and medals of Serbian athletes.

- Recreational and school sports are the basis of healthy nation. Therefore, we want to introduce physical education class every day, as is the practice in Hungary and Canada - said Serbian Prime Minister.

The theme of the meeting was the organization of the European Athletics Indoor Championship, which will be held in 2017 in Belgrade.

- I am sure that Serbia will be a great host and we will have the best atmosphere and the audience that athletics, at least in Europe, has not experienced so far. We will finish in time all the commitments to prepare for the organization of the championship - said Vucic.

Federation members will visit the works on the first Athletics Hall in Serbia, which will be used for the European Athletics Indoor Championship in 2017 in Belgrade.
