Serbia is not a member of the EU but it meets the criteria for this and it will become a member someday, and it also has an open duty-free market in almost entire world, Nikolic said in an interview for China's Xinhua News Agency.

With important infrastructural projects featuring Chinese corporations, Serbia can soon become a major construction site. And if the joint capital was used to build factories in Serbia, products could be delivered to the European market with no customs duties, he explained.

There are a lot of areas in Serbia for investment of Chinese capital and these do not include only railways, roads and bridges, Nikolic said.

China sees great economic cooperation potential in Serbia

Serbia has high technological knowledge, exceptionally qualified workforce and the government is granting incentives for every new employee and China should make use of this, he underscored.

Nikolic said that he belongs to a nation that wants to achieve everything through work, which is why he sees many similarities between the Chinese and Serbs. The president of China understood our wish for China to provide assistance to us by creating new jobs, Nikolic said.

With as few as 7.5 million citizens at the moment, Serbia can become a country with no unemployed people, with a little effort on the part of China, Nikolic said.
