Despite the fact that Vucic's initiative to establish a day of remembrance for all victims of the war in former Yugoslavia was met with a negative reception in Zagreb, Sarajevo and Pristina, the Serbian Prime Minister will, as announced present this idea formally on August 27 in Vienna.

Vucic, who believes the initiative will lead to reconciliation in the region, and which will consist of at least five key points, will formally be submitted at the Summit on the Western Balkans where there will be representatives of the European Union.

This initiative is "easier" to pass when Germany stands behind it, as one of the most powerful countries in Europe and the world, and I told the Serbian prime minister at a press conference that, "had Brussels or Berlin suggested it, it would immediately be supported by everyone."

How Telegraf.rs has learned, the official Berlin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that the idea of regional reconciliation and the day of remembrance of all victims is a very good and useful thing.

- The proposal is aimed at good-neighborly relations in the Balkans. We are waiting for the reaction of the countries to which this initiative applies - say for our portal someone  from Angela Merkel's cabinet.

For now, reactions have come from Zagreb and Sarajevo, which are not exactly thrilled with the proposal of reconciliation, while Serbian Prime Minister called on Croatian and Bosnian leaders to view a higher interest, not from where the initiative comes.

Vucic said that he would immediately accept such a proposal had it come from Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic and the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic.

- We would immediately accept because such an initiative is worth more than those initiatives coming from Brussels or other centers of power, because when we remember to solve our own issues, we show that we do not do it in order to gain political advantage but for ourselves, our children and the future - said Vucic.
