Sadness and shock in Tomislav's hometown: Neighbors can not believe that the Islamic State really killed him!

The news that the Islamists executed Tomislav Salopek, who was kidnapped on July 22 in Cairo, echoed in Vrpolje as a bolt from the blue sky. While in the air, the fear of the outcome of his kidnapping was palpable, there was hope that Egypt would do everything to secure Salopek's release and return him safely to his family.

Nobody in Vrpolje wishes to make any statements, everyone is waiting for official confirmation of the information that came out of Egypt. What we can now confirm is the great resentment of villagers, relatives, friends, if what was issued by some agencies is proven true.

- Tomislav was a man who never raised his voice, let alone did something else. How could they hurt him, he's a man that would not hurt a fly - said friends that grew up with him.
