Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan Juichi Takahara and on this occasion with welcome expressed hope that during his tenure, cooperation between the two countries will contribute to further strengthening and improving political and economic relations.

- We do our best to improve the investment climate in order to increase the presence of investors from Japan, whose knowledge and experience would be of great importance for further development of the Serbian economy - said Vucic.

Ambassador Takahara said that the Government of Japan highly appreciates the efforts of Prime Minister Vucic and the Government of Serbia to improve relations with neighboring countries and stressed the key role of Serbia in preserving peace and stability in the region. He particularly emphasized the support that Japan has provided to Serbia in the European integration process.

Takahara quoted Japanese officials praise to premier Vucic for the successful chairmanship of the OSCE in Serbia and commitment to peace and security in Europe.

China sees great economic cooperation potential in Serbia

- We highly appreciate the implementation of reform measures of the Government of Serbia for economic development - ambassador Takahara said, adding that Japanese companies, which have long been present in the Serbian market, are very satisfied with business conditions.

Vucic expressed gratitude for the support extended by Japan to Serbia on its path towards EU membership and participation in international organizations.
