Police are arresting and raiding facilities in several cities, and according to unconfirmed information, the Imam of two mosques in Skopje, Redzep Memiši, was taken into custody, relays Macedonian media.

So far, units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Skopje has taken great action in the settlements of Gazi Baba, Dizonska and Serava, and in Struga and Kumanovo where several people have been detained while searches are still ongoing in Gostivar and elsewhere.

Police have raided the auxiliary facilities, as well as a mosque in Skopje, which, for several months has been out of the control of the Islamic religious community. According to information, Tutunsuz and Jahja Pasha mosques are in question.
