"Today I received a message on Facebook ... Two elderly people (husband and wife) looking for a friend they studied with in Sarajevo decades ago. She lived in the Bosnian town that was one of the hotbeds of the armed conflicts of the 90s. An extremely polite and seemingly very educated man, a Muslim.

God, I think, where did they find me, of all people with the same surname (and as a friend they are looking for) ... Today was the first time in my life that I informed someone that someone dear to them died. Today, twenty years after the "end" of the war. And today, with more than twenty years of age myself, as a person who was born and raised in a city where we are all lucky to be alive, I can not help feeling, and I can not help but wonder, how many such friendships the war tore apart... Why?
