WORLD RECORD: Over a million people visited Belgrade's Lake in the past 5 days!

 Last week was a record breaking weekend in terms of visitors, where the Belgrade Lake-Ada Ciganlija hosted between 350 000 and 400 000 people who chose the coast of the "Belgrade Sea" as an escape from the heat wave! More spots were necessary at the pools, and many worked longer working hours.

The beach near the restaurant "Jezero" at the Belgrade Lake was filled with towels as early as 9 am, while the deck chairs and bars were emptying out in the late evening hours.

The Belgrade Lake is visited by over 200,000 people daily, which means that for five days, over a million swimmers visited the "Belgrade Sea".

- The scope of work has increased for rescuers, making them much more engaged this summer - said Maja Pavlovic in the name of "Ada Ciganlija" for "Novosti".

- Coordinators follow the needs on the field, but such a large number of visitors hasn't been recorded in years.

Previous poor season discharged cash pools are also filled. Department of Sports Medicine and the Kosutnjak pool sold 11,064 tickets over the weekend!

- The record was set on Saturday, when the number of visitors reached 6,100 - says Tatiana Janackovic from the Institute, and added:

- When it comes to longer working hours, we are not able to meet the great interest due to the already pre-booked time with clubs and federations.

At the pool SRC "Olympus" additional time slots have been allotted. This weekend saw about 4,000 visitors, from 6 am to midnight. It was similar to "Tas", where an average of 300 customers each day of the weekend comes between 9 pm - 11 pm.

At the pool SRC "Milan Gale Muškatirovic", 4,700 visitors showed up the first working day, however, the number still remains at a high level - 3,810 tickets were sold on Saturday and 3,400 on Sunday. Gates of Dorcolska Oaza are open from eight in the morning to 9 pm!

In Streliste, Pancevo's outdoor pool will operate in the future at night, according to the leadership of the PUC "Mladost". Since the mid-gate baths are open from 9:30 pm until half an hour before midnight, the entrance fee for adults is 280 and 175 dinars for children.
