Team Telegraf decided to check out what can "pass" in the classic Serbian pawnshop and how the personnel would react if we, for example, proposed to "melt" our Grandma's gold teeth...

The reporter randomly chose a pawnshop and explained to the personnel that her grandmother has gold teeth, not one, but four!

Here's how the conversation looked like:

- I explained to them how, since my grandma is old, she decided to put in an artificial prosthesis and take them out. I told them how I took her to the doctor who took all four out. And how I gathered everything in a napkin ... and I specify how I was a little ashamed, what will people say, asking for the repurchase of gold teeth, does anyone do that? But to my surprise, all those who I called in the city buy them, as with all other gold.

- Yes, yes, we also repurchase and pawn. To pawn, the price is slightly lower than the selling price - says a voice from the pawnshop.

- And how much money can I get? You know, my grandmother has four teeth, now wants to put in a prosthesis and solve something with her gold - I explain everything nicely.

- Oh, four teeth - with a laugh says the pawnbroker - give me those so I can put in my mouth - he cracks a joke at our expense.

He explains to me how it works. First, the tooth must be cleaned and its value determined. Sometimes it happens that the majority of teeth are just a dental cover, and then there's not a lot gold in it.

- My grandma told me two are 20-carat gold, and two 18-carat - I answer.

- That is quality gold then, if you want to pledge one gram, it is 15 euros and if you want to sell, the price is 26 euros for 20-carat, and 23 euros for the 18-carat. How many grams it has is determined when you bring it to us. It is crowned with a small hammer, cleaned, and the gold is put on a scale to measure like any other - explains the pawnshop worker in detail.

I was thrilled with how much can be earned, that is nearly 3,000 dinars per gram, and we have four teeth.

- Grandma, this is awesome, we can take a lot of money, even if one tooth has two grams of gold, that is approximately 30,000 for all four - enthusiastically I end the conversation.
