On this occasion, Kondic said that Dejan Stankovic is a very famous football player and sports figure not only in Serbia but also in Italy and throughout Europe.
- His legendary career and his adequate leadership in that field are in perfect harmony with the vision of Air Serbia to become the leading airline in the region - said Kondic and noted that Stankovic was selected for his outstanding sporting achievements, and the fact that he holds the record for the most appearances for the national team, where he was the captain until 2011.
Additional symbolism is represented by the naming of the plane in Italy, where Stankovic played for the last few years or coached teams like Udinese, Lazio and Inter Milan, for which he played for between 2004 and 2013, and won the the Champions League, five champion titles in the Italian first division (Serie A), four Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup (Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana).
