The bacteria that was killing patients in the Urgent Care center has successfully been isolated!

According to the latest findings of epidemiologists, the isolated bacteria is "klebsiella" but it is not certain that this is the sole cause of infection in patients in the Urgent Care Center, states Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar stating that the situation is now under control and that there have been no new reported cases.

Loncar told reporters during a break in the Serbian Diaspora Medical Conference 2015 that the samples were sent to Germany for further analysis.

- I hope that the Urgent Care center will begin to function normally in the upcoming week- said Loncar stating that they took swabs and samples from all possible places.

He appealed to all health workers to raise the level of prevention of sepsis and asepsis to a higher level, adding that preventive measures include the highest  the level of hygiene and to respectively follow prescribed procedures.

The minister, who earlier this morning spoke with epidemiologsits stated that the infection is something of concern to the entire world, even in much more developed countries than Serbia, but that does not mean that we should relax.
