She believed this up until February this year when she received a call from a woman who gave birth around the same time, in the same hospital and told her that there is hope that her child is still alive.

She had a fate like many women of the seventies. She was 21 years old and had a year and a half old child. They sent her to Belgrade from a small town, where they put her to sleep, and when she awoke from anesthesia, she was told that she gave birth to a daughter.

In fact, she gave birth in 1971 in a Belgrade maternity clinic, but never laid eyes on her child.

- I did not know anything then because I was put to sleep before the birth. I do not remember anything - Ljiljana begins her story.

According to her, in the documents she received about her child, there are many inconsistencies, because the child was registered under number two.

- I started to seek out information about my child in February this year. Then, I was contacted by a woman from Munich, who gave birth at the same time and in the same place as I. We share the same fate, because her child was apparently stillborn.

Ljiljana received a call from a woman searching for her own child. While she was looking for hers, she came up with some information that Ljiljan's child could actually be alive, and that it did not die at birth, but that she gave birth to a boy, even though she was told that the girl was in question.

- That's when I started looking at all the paperwork and digging as much as I could. I could not find a single trace proving his death. At the New Cemetery (Novo Groblje) they told me that no child under the surname Vukosavljevic was buried there, and I was told the same in the Deligradska chapel. In addition to the Faculty of Medicine.

Still, she managed to, as she says, come to some data "on her own", and quickly discovered that a man named Vujan was registered under the same number, as well as his child, and that just like her, has blood type zero.

- I was able to get his number and called him. He was curt with me when I explained why I called him, and I soon realized that he was similar in character to my older son - said Ljiljana, and added:

- I understand that it is not easy for him talk to me on the subject. And he did say all kinds of horrible things to me on the phone, but I do not blame him. This woman, who bought him from a doctor in seventies, had thrown him out. She could not cope with his behavior.

Ljiiljana noted that she wants to get in touch with her son in any way possible, and that she will try to do so with all state institutions, and even through the courts.

- I just want my child to know that I did not leave him, discard him, sell him nor donate him. That I continue to suffer because of him, and that I love him with all my heart and soul.
