SAD CONFESSION OF LITTLE UROS ILIC: I gave Stefan a stick, to save him, but I was afraid that I would fall into the water!

That a child's imagination can do anything, is confirmed by little Uros Ilic who, once his brother Stefan (12) was found dead admitted that the whole story about the kidnapping was made up. When the truth came to light, however, it was unable to change the outcome of the boy's death. It only calmed the public because they finally learned that there was no abduction, but a moment of carelessness. While keeping the sheep, a lamb ran away and fell into the river Karas. Stefan was afraid it would drown, and tried to get him out, however, he slipped. He managed to save the lamb, but not himself.

HE MANAGED TO FOOL EVERYONE: Stefan Ilic's younger brother has an IQ of 140, which places him in the one percent of the population!

According to "Vecernje Novosti", this is Gordan Ilic, the mother of the drowned boy retold the story of the fate of her 12 year old son, Stefan.

- Uros says he tried to help him. He handed him a stick, but he did not have enough power to pull him out. He let go of the stick when he saw that he could fall into the water  - says Gordana.

Stefan Ilic's parents will go to jail if it turns out that his brother killed him?

According to the latest version of Uros' story, when he went home from the scene of the accident, he really saw the car and the people who came to fish.

- That's how he came to the idea to invent the story about the kidnapping. He said he was afraid of what his father would say. Who would care if the lamb drowned, only that our Stefan was still alive...-  she said in tears.

GREAT TRAGEDY: Stefan Ilic (12) was found dead in a canal!

When asked whether Stevica was a strict father, she said she was, but that he never beat them.

- We have been together for 20 years, but we aare not married. That's why all the children bear my name. All our children had to listen to their father, while I was more forgiving - says Gordana.

On Tuesday, Uros ran around the yard and the street, playing with his younger brothers and neighbors. When asked what happened at the police station when he admitted that he lied, he just shrugged his shoulders.

- I'm not going to talk about it - he said, and curled up in his bed, turning to the wall.

Gordana told us that they were promised that because of all of this that their children would not be taken away and that Uros would not be placed in foster care.

- I hope that will be the case, because we are very attached to our children, and they to us, especially the two youngest. We are registered with the Social Welfare Centre in Alibunar and now we need the consent of our bosses to switch to Bela Crkva, because we are planning to buy a house in this village, with the help of my family, and to live here. My father suggested we bury Stefan in Bela Ckrva, where he lives, but I did not agree to this because I want to go to his grave every day - spoke a heavily sedated Gordana through tears.

She mentioned their difficult living conditions because they receive 14,500 from welfare, 10,500 from child tax benefits, and the wage for herding sheep is 15,000 dinars per month.

- We are poor, but I never complained to anyone or asked for help. We try to live with what we have, but we need a washing machine, because I wash clothes by hand in winter and summer. We need a freezer, because the little food we have, we have to carry to our neighbors or it will perish. It would be nice if we had a bathroom, because all our children bathe in a small basin, and we heat the water on the stove - mourned Gordana.

However, in "Novosti", it was confirmed that the family of Stefan Ilic, although not yet registered with them, will be taken care of in the future by the Centre for Social Work Bela Crkva, in the municipality in which they live.
