Vladimir Karan (46), who two days ago was badly injured on Banovo Brdo, when the jeep he was in exploded, was allegedly trying to be killed by competitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, because of the war on the drug market.

Under the control of Vladimir Karan, who is considered one of the strongest drug dealers,  was drug trafficking from Turkey to countries in the region and Europe.

- Our operative findings indicate that Karan was at odds over drug markets in BiH, because he probably objected to someone in that business, who decided to eliminate him - says a source in the police.

Karan, who is suspected of dealing drugs across Europe, is still in the MMA in serious condition, although he's been repeatedly operated on.

During the explosion, he suffered a fracture of the thigh and buttocks, as well as burns on his body.

- Police is currently reviewing footage from surrounding buildings to determine whether a plastic explosive was placed on Karan's jeep while he was sitting at a nearby cafe or in the parking lot in front of the building where he lives. The assassin was waiting for Karan to move slightly with his car before detonating the explosive on his cell phone - explains a source close to the investigation.

A RECORD IN BELGRADE: traffic cops caught 552 drunk drivers in 7 days!

On impact, Karan was ejected from the car and his life was saved because he apparently did not have a habit of putting on his seat belt.

According to unofficial operations, traffic violations were not even close to his biggest problem with the law: Karan was previously convicted for drug trafficking, kidnapping, aggravated theft, robbery and illegal possession of firearms.

Karan was reportedly a good friend with Aleksandar Bulatovic Vojvoda  (31), who was killed last year on the Boulevard of Zoran Djindjic, while Vojvoda was known to be a good friend with the late Velibor Dunjic (27).

The wounded drug dealer was in conflict with the brothers Bamabalić from Banovo Brdo.
